We specialize in mass earthwork, utility infrastructure, culverts/bridges, and environmental remediation.
With respect to Avery's healthy growth, we are seeking a safety conscious, self-motivated, dedicated, and team-oriented individual to join Avery Construction as a Civil Estimator.
Responsibilities Pre-Bid - Attend pre-bid meetings and site walk-throughs Bid Documents - Thoroughly review project specifications and plans to develop a comprehensive understanding of the scope of work Risk Assessment - Evaluate the aggregate level of risk associated with the project by analyzing its specific risk elements Take-Off - Prepare quantity take-offs and earth calculations Estimate - Prepare detailed estimate breakdowns with direct and indirect costs Vendor Solicitations - Vet the appropriate vendors to provide bid proposals for their services and/or materials Vendor Bid Leveling - Chart vendor comparisons Prequalify Subcontractors -Prequalify subcontractors to determine capacity, financial stability, and project experience Value Engineer - Develop VE options to explore competitive options Bid Package -Prepare an inclusive bid package for client delivery Transition - Prepare hand-off sequence to project management team upon award Training - Personal development is a necessity for continuity in technology Compete - Produce competitive bids with inventive solutions to maximize our contract opportunity Market Research - Research latest trends and explore where our industry is heading BE CREATIVE - An analytical person makes for a great estimator.

Requirements Safety - Respect the challenges this industry possesses and be mindful that everyone's safety is priority one.
Must be able to pass criminal history background to access high security project sites.
Experience o Minimum of 5 years of heavy civil construction experience is preferred.
Ideal candidates will have experience with mass earthwork, utility infrastructure, culverts/bridges, and environmental remediation.
Pay is commensurate with experience.
o BS degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is preferred o Software / Applications:
Insite Sitework (preferred) or similar quantity take-off software HCSS HeavyBid (preferred) or similar bid software Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
) Abilities - Dependable and self-motivated.
Provides high attention to detail and quality work.
Travel - Must have valid driver's license for pre-bid meetings, site walkthroughs and visits Effective Communicator - Your work is driven by deadlines; communication is paramount to ensure on-time delivery of bid submissions.
Work cohesively with team players and be a part of the support network.
