Positions may be part-time or fulltime; day, evening, weekend or overnight shifts are available.
Job duties may include:
personal care; transportation to appointments; recreational activities; job coaching; respite care (giving families time away from caregiving responsibilities); and more! What does it take to be a Direct Support Professional? In Connecticut, anyone interested in working as a Direct Support Professional must complete College of Direct Support training, which includes mandatory training classes available online.
Criminal background checks are required by DDS as part of the hiring process.
